Northern India Textile Mills' Association (NITMA) is an association of Textile Mills located in Northern India and was established in the year 1958. It is a registered under Societies Act XX1 of 1860 and is a non profit making body solely engaged in helping promote the interest of India's Textile Industry particularly in the northern part of the country covering states like J&K, Punjab , Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, U.P. and Madhya Pradesh.  The associations helps the India textile industry with, Advocacy - Consulting - Market Research - Trade Events - News / Views Analysis - Spotting Trends - Fiscal Interventions - Policy Analysis : Textile Policy of India - Policy Analysis : Textile competing Countries - Competitiveness Studies - International flows of Textile Machinery : Investment flows across the globe and International Networking.  Some of theirmembers in fact are Asia's largest textile conglomerates. Most of NITMA members are spinning mills whereas some are composite textile mills.

The South India Research Textile Association (SITRA): SITRA is one amongst the chain of laboratories in the country. It is sponsored by the Textile industry and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.  It is an autonomous scientific research organisation registered in May 1951 under the Societies Registration Act (XXI) of 1860. It is governed by a Council of Administration consisting of twenty-six members who include representatives of the Industry, the Central and State Governments and the scientists from reputed Institutions
